Purpose: To illuminate the meaning of social relationships and health concerns as experienced by adolescents and young people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: A longitudinal qualitative study was conducted. Data reported from 172 adolescents and young people aged 12-24 years in five countries; Chile, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States collected from May 2020 to June 2021 were analysed via thematic analysis.
Fat tissue plays an important role in the regulation of inflammatory processes. Increased visceral fat has been associated with a higher production of cytokines that triggers a low-grade inflammatory response, which eventually may contribute to the development of insulin resistance. In the present study, we investigated whether glycine, an amino acid that represses the expression in vitro of pro-inflammatory cytokines in Kupffer and 3T3-L1 cells, can affect in vivo cytokine production in lean and monosodium glutamate-induced obese mice (MSG/Ob mice).

Objectives: We review physiology and pharmacology relating to the use of octreotide for chylothorax in infants and children. We review the published experience of octreotide dosing in this context.
Data Source: Systematic review of the literature, including PubMed (English-only journals), citations from relevant articles, major textbooks, and personal files.
A case of non-gestational choriocarcinoma, primary in the gallbladder, is described. Pathology showed a mixture of adenocarcinoma and choriocarcinoma. A Medline search for the last 10 years has shown no similar cases reported.
