Testis-Sparing Approach in Paratesticular Leiomyoma: A Rare Case Navigating From Diagnosis to Targeted Treatment Planning.

In this case study, we describe a 46-year-old male presenting with a palpable, gradually enlarging scrotal mass persisting over three to four years, ultimately diagnosed as paratesticular leiomyoma, who underwent enucleation of the tumor with no signs of recurrence, two years after surgery. This report underscores the significance of accurate diagnosis to avoid unnecessary treatment. We also emphasize the sequential events and findings, supported by relevant literature review, that contributed to establishing the correct diagnosis and guiding appropriate treatment decisions.

Rare Renal Malignancies: A Case Series Highlighting Uncommon Presentations and Their Management Strategies.

This case series elucidates renal cell carcinoma characterized by three distinct presentations, necessitating individualized treatment strategies tailored to each specific circumstance. The three cases presented pertain to clear cell renal cell carcinoma. The first case involves a 44-year-old male patient with renal cell carcinoma in an ectopic kidney, an exceedingly rare occurrence with limited literature.

Comparing and assessing physical activity and sedentary behaviour guidelines for different populations with and without chronic conditions and/or disabilities: a systematic review protocol.

Physical activity guidelines targeting different populations with and without chronic diseases or disabilities are required to meet the diverse functional and physiological needs experienced by different subgroups of people to achieve optimal health benefits. As the importance of physical activity guidelines in promoting optimal health and well-being becomes increasingly recognised, there is a critical need for their systematic evaluation to ensure they remain effective, applicable and aligned with evolving health needs and scientific insights. This study aims to systematically review, critically evaluate, and compare global physical activity and sedentary behaviour guidelines on frequency, intensity, time, and type of exercise for adults, pregnant and postpartum women, and people living with chronic conditions and/or disabilities.

Pandemic potential of the Nipah virus and public health strategies adopted during outbreaks: Lessons from Kerala, India.

Kerala, a south Indian state witnessed several outbreaks of Nipah encephalitis since 2018, a zoonotic viral disease with significant pandemic potential. This review highlights the relevance of surveillance and health system preparedness, infection control, early diagnosis and treatment with broad-spectrum antivirals, environmental conservation, and community engagement in mitigating Nipah outbreaks. Additionally, it emphasises the importance of developing new biologicals and anti-viral drugs to combat the disease.

Outcomes of Total Thyroidectomy in Large Goiters With Retrosternal Extension and Tracheal Compression: A Multivariate Analysis.

Introduction: Large retrosternal goiters often cause tracheal compression and deviation, leading to respiratory symptoms and complicating surgical treatment. Total thyroidectomy is the treatment of choice though it carries a risk of complications due to the altered anatomy and its proximity to vital structures. This study examines the outcomes of total thyroidectomy in patients with retrosternal goiters and assesses the impact of tracheal compression on clinical results.
