Purpose: Functional alignment (FA) has emerged as a personalized strategy in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) to optimize outcomes by accounting for patient-specific anatomical and soft tissue characteristics. Limited evidence exists on how polyethylene insert type, specifically cruciate-substituting (CS) versus posterior-stabilized (PS), impacts clinical outcomes and complications in this context.

Methods: This retrospective comparative study included 329 patients who underwent robotic-assisted TKA with FA principles with a minimum 2-year follow-up.

Background: The purpose of the study was to assess whether patients who have different coronal alignment variations (functional knee phenotypes (FKP)) have distinctly different rotational alignment variations to justify an extension of the FKP concept to include rotational alignment parameters. The goals of the study were to: 1) determine the frequency of bony congruence between the anterior, distal, and posterior femoral and proximal tibial joint lines using the extended FKP concept; and 2) connect these findings to clinical practice by simulating the impact of different alignment concepts on the most common FKP.

Methods: The posterior condylar angle (PCA) and anterior trochlear angle (ATA) were measured in 265 knees without osteoarthritis (OA).

Background: Dual mobility cups (DMCs) have effectively prevented dislocations after total hip arthroplasty (THA). However, use of these cups in primary THAs remains controversial, especially in young patients. This study aimed to determine the long-term survival rate and functional outcomes of a contemporary DMC used in primary THA.

Many drugs entering clinical trials today are poorly water-soluble and rely on supersaturating formulations, such as amorphous solid dispersions (ASD) to enhance their bioavailability. The performance of these formulations is often investigated through biorelevant dissolution testing using simulated intestinal fluid. Often overlooked in biorelevant dissolution is the presence of mucus within the intestinal environment and its possible role in affecting the formulation performance.

Background: Value-based reimbursement (VBR) has become increasingly common among medical practitioners but mental health practitioners (MHPs) have largely remained in fee-for-service (FFS) arrangements. Aligning payment incentives to clinical outcomes rather than volume of services, VBR aspires to achieve health care's quadruple aim, namely improved patient experience, improved population health, reduced costs, and improved work life of health care providers.

Aims Of The Study: (i) Describe both the historical challenges to implementing VBR for mental health care within the United States, along with the shifting healthcare landscape which now enables VBR arrangements between payers and MHPs; (ii) Highlight considerations for defining quality care and establishing VBR contracting.
