Introduction: Localisation methods for surgical excision of impalpable breast lesions have advanced in recent years, with increasing utilization of new wire-free technologies. The Hologic LOCalizer™ radiofrequency identification (RFID) tag is one such device; however, as is the case when new technologies are first introduced, little is known about clinical experiences, potential complications, and learning used to overcome perioperative challenges when changing from guidewires to RFID tags. This study reports shared learning experiences of clinicians using the LOCalizer™ as part of the national iBRA-NET localisation study.

Diabetes mellitus and obesity are major public health issues that significantly impact the health care system. The next generation of health care providers will need a deep understanding of the pathophysiology of these diseases if we are to prevent, treat, and eventually cure these diseases and ease the burden on patients and the health care system. Physiology core concepts are a set of core principles, or "big ideas," identified by physiology educators that are thought to promote long-term retention, create a deeper understanding, and help with formation of critical thinking skills.

Matrilineal kinship systems-where descent is traced through mothers only-are present all over the world but are most concentrated in sub-Saharan Africa. We explore the relationship between exposure to Africa's external slave trades, during which millions of people were shipped from the continent during a 400-year period, and the evolution of matrilineal kinship. Scholars have hypothesized that matrilineal kinship, which is well-suited to incorporating new members, maintaining lineage continuity and insulating children from the removal of parents (particularly fathers), was an adaptive response to the slave trades.

Aim: To evaluate the safety and feasibility of using radiofrequency identification (RFID) tags for the localisation of axillary nodes prior to targeted excision in a National Health Service (NHS) breast unit.

Materials And Methods: Retrospective data collection was carried out to analyse the first 75 cases of RFID-targeted axillary nodes inserted between 12 June 2019 and 27 October 2022, during which an overall total of 1,296 breast and axillary tags were deployed in 1,120 patients.

Results: Of the 75 axillary tags, 70 (93%) had a primary breast cancer and five (7%) had no known breast cancer but had an abnormal node targeted for diagnostic excision.
