The purpose of this research is to study the effect of preeclampsia of pregnant women on the functional status of the visual organ. The research study was made on 77 pregnant women (154 eyes) from 17 to 43 years old. Based on the analysis of the research results, during uncomplicated pregnancy and mild preeclampsia we found no significant changes in the foveolar retinal thickness and macular retinal volume both during various trimesters of pregnancy and postpartum.

The aim of the study was to compare and research: the general prevalence of DM in the Sumy region compared with the prevalence of DM in the whole of Ukraine during the years 2011-2016; the prevalence of ocular complications of diabetes and their tendency to progress in Ukraine and Sumy region over this period; various demographical traits of the prevalence of ocular complications of diabetes and the dependence of prevalence of ocular complications of diabetes upon environmental causes and various socio-economic factors. We conducted a statistical analysis of data on diabetes and its complications in the whole of Ukraine and the Sumy region. The materials that were analyzed were collected over the last 6 years from the Department of Endocrine diseases of the Regional Hospital of Sumy.

The purpose of this investigation is to study the effect of C- taurine complex of antioxidants on blood biochemical parameters in the process of treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus of type II with NPDR. 68 patients (136 eyes) were enrolled in the study. The monitoring of the patient lasted for 3 months.
