Toxic reactions can appear after pressurised flushing of soft tissue with octenidine (OCT) containing disinfectants. Their use for surgical disinfection could complicate the diagnosis of possible contamination. In patients with open lacerations of their hand's subcutaneous tissue samples were taken before and after surgical disinfection with Octenisept® and analysed by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).

The aim of this study was to compare clinical outcomes between LSV and medial parapatellar approaches for primary TKA and to investigate incidence of complications related to TTO.
Methods: A total of 580 patients with primary TKA, meeting the inclusion criteria, were treated at our hospital from February 2006 until February 2013.

The shortest path tree rooted at a source to all other nodes is investigated in a graph with polynomial link weights tunable by the power exponent alpha. By varying alpha, different types of shortest path trees, in short alpha trees, appear. Especially, the alpha --> 0 regime that corresponds to heavily fluctuating link weights possesses a peculiar type of tree.
