In this virtual special issue, a set of 26 papers previously published in the American Journal of Community Psychology (AJCP), focused on self-help/mutual aid groups (SH/MAGs), are being curated given their significant impact in this domain. SH/MAGs constitute an important component of the community psychology's proposal to address various psychosocial and health problems. The American Journal of Community Psychology has played an important role in exploring the characteristics of self-help/mutual aid groups in various fields.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: As photo editing behavior to enhance one?s appearance in photos becomes more and more prevalent on social network sites (SNSs), potential risks are increasingly discussed as well. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between photo editing behavior, self-objectification, physical appearance comparisons, self-perceived attractiveness, and self-esteem.
Methods: 403 participants completed self-report questionnaires measuring the aformentioned constructs.

Skin-reducing mastectomy (SRM) is usually indicated in these cases, although with increased morbidity. The aims of the study were to introduce 2 modifications of the classic technique and to incorporate them in the management algorithm to improve the outcomes.
