Objective: Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have achieved state-of-the-art results in various medical image segmentation tasks. However, CNNs often assume that the source and target dataset follow the same probability distribution and when this assumption is not satisfied their performance degrades significantly. This poses a limitation in medical image analysis, where including information from different imaging modalities can bring large clinical benefits.

The current study employed a whole-body physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling approach to investigate the underlying mechanisms of the carboxylesterase-mediated pharmacokinetics interactions between irinotecan and OXA in rats.
Methods: Firstly, rats received irinotecan intravenous treatment at 35 μmol/kg without or with oral OXA pretreatment (2800 μmol/kg) daily for 5 days.
Introduction: Atypical femoral fractures (AFFs) are associated with delayed union and higher reoperation rates. Axial dynamization of intramedullary nails is hypothesized to reduce time-to-union (TTU) and fixation failure as compared to static locking.
Methods: Consecutive acutely displaced AFFs fixed with long intramedullary nails across five centres between 2006 and 2021 with a minimum postoperative follow-up of three months were retrospectively reviewed.
