- Fertilized zygotes usually have two pronuclei (PN), but abnormalities like 1PN zygotes are common in IVF, leading to debates on whether to transfer them. This study investigated neonatal outcomes from 1PN zygotes using two fertilization methods: conventional IVF (cIVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) across several years.
- Data from 1234 fresh 1PN zygotes indicated a higher quality embryo development and blastulation rate in the cIVF group (46% and 44%, respectively) compared to the ICSI group (33% and 20%). Additionally, pregnancy rates were higher in the cIVF group despite both methods
