Background: People with dysfunctional breathing (DB) experience symptoms such as air hunger and breathing pattern irregularities. The condition is often comorbid with other respiratory conditions, as well as anxiety and depression. Illness perceptions, the beliefs an individual has of an illness may explain health and wellbeing outcomes.

Enhancement of recombinant adeno-associated virus activity by improved stoichiometry and homogeneity of capsid protein assembly.

Studies of recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) revealed the mixture of full particles with different densities in rAAV. There are no conclusive results because of the lack of quantitative stoichiometric viral proteins, encapsidated DNA, and particle level analyses. We report the first comprehensive characterization of low- and high-density rAAV serotype 2 particles.

From sceptic to believer: Acceptability of cognitive muscular therapy , a new intervention for knee osteoarthritis.

Background: Cognitive Muscular TherapyTM (CMT) is an integrated behavioural intervention developed for knee osteoarthritis. CMT teaches patients to reconceptualise the condition, integrates muscle biofeedback and aims to reduce muscle overactivity, both in response to pain and during daily activities. This nested qualitative study explored patient and physiotherapist perspectives and experiences of CMT.

Cognitive Outcome After Complicated Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: A Literature Review and Meta-Analysis.

Cognitive outcome for mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) with positive brain imaging (complicated mTBI) was compared with that for mTBI with normal imaging (uncomplicated mTBI) and with moderate to severe TBI, using meta-analysis. Twenty-three studies utilizing objective neurocognitive tests were included in the analysis. At less than 3 months post-injury, complicated mTBI was associated with poorer cognitive outcomes than uncomplicated mTBI, but deficits were not comparable to those with moderate-severe TBI.

Background: People with knee osteoarthritis stand and walk with increased trunk flexion. This altered postural alignment increases hamstring activation, elevating mechanical knee loads during walking. Increased hip flexor stiffness may lead to increased trunk flexion.
