Antimicrobial Resistance Profiles of Isolated from Food Animal Carcasses During 2010-2023 in South Korea.

Antimicrobial-resistant bacterial contamination of meat poses a significant global public health risk. We aimed to determine antimicrobial resistance profiles and trends of recovered from carcasses of healthy food-producing animals in South Korea during 2010-2023. In total, 4748 isolates obtained from cattle ( = 1582), pigs ( = 1572), and chickens ( = 1594) were assessed for susceptibility to 12 antimicrobials.

Engineered antigen-specific T regulatory cells suppress autoreactivity to the anti-glomerular basement membrane disease antigen.

Anti-glomerular basement membrane (anti-GBM) disease is accompanied by insufficient antigen-specific T regulatory cells (Tregs) and clonally expanded antigen-specific T conventional cells (Tconvs). In particular, this applied to the immunodominant T cell auto- epitope of type IV collagen, α3(IV)NC1135-145 , presented by HLA-DR15. Here, we investigated whether Tregs engineered to express GBM-T cell receptors (TCR) specific for α3(IV)NC1135- 145 better suppress autoimmunity.

Plant Toll/interleukin-1 receptor (TIR) domains function as NADases and ribosyl-transferases generating second messengers that trigger hypersensitive responses. Purpose: Trabecular micro-bypass devices (TBDs) such as the iStent series (Glaukos Corporation, Laguna Hills, CA), are effective in reducing intraocular pressure (IOP). However, precise placement of TBDs is crucial in achieving surgical efficacy, as device malpositioning may lead to suboptimal IOP reduction. We demonstrate two novel intra-operative signs to aid confirmation of accurate iStent placement, without reliance on imaging technologies.
