The tendency to automatically imitate others' behavior is well documented. Successful interactions with others require some control of automatic imitation, but the nature of these control mechanisms remains unclear. The present study investigated whether the regulation of automatic imitation involves domain-specific versus domain-general control processes.

Effectiveness of behavior change techniques to address barriers to follow-up colonoscopy: results from an online survey and randomized factorial experiment.

Background: Nonattendance at colonoscopy is associated with reduced colorectal cancer (CRC) survival.

Purpose: The aim of this research was to quantify barriers to colonoscopy and test the effectiveness of behavior change techniques (BCTs) to address them.

Background: Medical device innovation and development for pediatric care lags behind that of adults. With higher technical risks, challenges in accumulating data, smaller market sizes, and limited return on investment, there is less incentive for pediatric device development. Consequently, translation of medical devices specifically designed to improve pediatric care is limited.

3-Month Melatonin Supplementation to Reduce Brain Oxidative Stress and Improve Sleep in Mild Cognitive Impairment: A Randomised Controlled Feasibility Trial.

Melatonin has multiple proposed therapeutic benefits including antioxidant properties, circadian rhythm synchronisation and sleep promotion. Since these areas are also recognised risk factors for dementia, melatonin has been hypothesised to slow cognitive decline in older adults. Participants with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) were recruited from the community for a 12-week randomised placebo-controlled parallel, feasibility trial of 25 mg oral melatonin nightly.

Community Emergency Medicine Clinicians' Pediatric Sepsis Readiness.

Background/objective: Pediatric sepsis is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States, and its early recognition is crucial but challenging. This study assessed clinicians' self-reported preparedness for recognizing and managing pediatric sepsis in the Rhode Island region.

Methods: A cross-sectional, survey was developed and sent to community emergency medicine clinicians in greater Rhode Island.
