The concordance between paraphilic interest and behavior is moderate to strong in previous studies. In the present study, we examined whether sexual excitation (SE) and sexual inhibition (SI) moderate the concordance between paraphilic interest and behavior, across several paraphilic themes. We expected that stronger concordance would be found at high levels of SE and weaker concordance would be found at high levels of SI, for both men and women.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study examines how the ionosphere on Mars is affected by crustal magnetic fields and solar wind pressure using data from the MAVEN spacecraft's Langmuir Probe and Waves instrument.
  • - Researchers found that electron density decreases when comparing the solar wind's dynamic pressure to the magnetic pressure of Mars' crustal fields, indicating an inverse relationship.
  • - Different magnetic field configurations change the behavior of electron density, with lower densities observed in certain topologies, suggesting that solar wind interactions and magnetic forces play a complex role in shaping the Martian atmosphere.

The efficacy of affinity-based treatments for cancer and other diseases is often limited by poor distribution throughout the targeted tissue. Although lower-affinity antibodies will penetrate more uniformly, these often reach lower concentrations because of their rapid clearance from the tissue. To increase retention and improve distribution, we created low-affinity photocrosslinkable affibodies that can diffuse into dense tumor matrices with limited tumor barrier formation and then be photocrosslinked in place to cell receptors to increase retention.

Background: The incubation period for infection (CDI) is generally considered to be less than 1 week, but some recent studies suggest that prolonged carriage prior to disease onset may be common.

Objective: To estimate the incubation period for patients developing CDI after initial negative cultures.

Methods: In 3 tertiary care medical centers, we conducted a cohort study to identify hospitalized patients and long-term care facility residents with negative initial cultures for followed by a diagnosis of CDI with or without prior detection of carriage.

Purpose: Skull base features, including increased foramen ovale (FO) cross-sectional area, are associated with lateral skull base spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid (sCSF) leak and encephalocele. Manual measurement requires skill in interpreting imaging studies and is time consuming. The goal of this study was to develop a fully automated deep learning method for FO segmentation and to determine the predictive value in identifying patients with sCSF leak or encephalocele.
