Objectives: The PRASCO trial reported the short-term superiority of an antibiotic cocktail plus intravenous corticosteroids (IVCS) over IVCS alone in children with acute severe colitis (ASC). Here, we report the extension of the PRASCO trial and the long-term outcomes of the antibiotic cocktail in ASC.
Methods: This prospective follow-up of the PRASCO trial documented disease outcomes and treatments annually through 5 years.
Background: CRISPR is widely used to silence genes by inducing mutations expected to nullify their expression. While numerous computational tools have been developed to design single-guide RNAs (sgRNAs) with high cutting efficiency and minimal off-target effects, only a few tools focus specifically on predicting gene knockouts following CRISPR. These tools consider factors like conservation, amino acid composition, and frameshift likelihood.

Study Design: We used data from the 2019 and 2021 National Survey of Children's Health to compare transition preparation before and after the COVID-19 pandemic among adolescents who had a medical care visit within the preceding year, controlled for relevant potential confounders. The association of demographic factors and survey year with a composite measure of adequate transition preparation was evaluated using univariable analysis and multivariable logistic regression.
Background: Baseball pitching injuries can be related to fatigue. Changes in grip and pinch strength over the course of professional baseball games are unknown.
Hypothesis: Grip and pinch strength will decrease as the number of innings pitched increases; injured pitchers will have a lower grip strength than uninjured pitchers.
