Objective: This article provides an overview of the current definitions, diagnostic tools, and overall management of insomnia.

Latest Developments: The treatment of insomnia has shifted over time, with a growing emphasis on nonpharmacologic therapies as a first-line intervention and the leveraging of technology to aid in the dissemination of these therapies. With this evolution, the definition of insomnia has changed to reflect a common treatment pathway.

In the United States, besides the US territory Puerto Rico, Hawai'i is the only state that grows commercial coffee. In Hawai'i, coffee is the second most valuable agricultural commodity. Health benefits associated with moderate coffee consumption, including its antioxidant capacity, have been correlated to its bioactive components.

In the present review paper by members of the collaborative research center "Register: Language Users' Knowledge of Situational-Functional Variation" (CRC 1412), we assess the pervasiveness of register phenomena across different time periods, languages, modalities, and cultures. We define "register" as recurring variation in language use depending on the function of language and on the social situation. Informed by rich data, we aim to better understand and model the knowledge involved in situation- and function-based use of language register.

Study Objective: While supplemental O inhalation corrects hypoxemia, its effect on post-anesthesia ventilation remains unknown. This pilot trial tested the hypothesis that hyperoxia increases the time spent with a transcutaneous PCO (TcPCO) > 45 mmHg, compared with standard O supplementation.

Design: Single-blinded, parallel two-arm randomized pilot trial.

E-cadherin, a transmembrane protein involved in epithelial cell-cell adhesion and signaling, is found in exosomal fractions isolated from human body fluids. A cellular mechanism for recruitment of E-cadherin into extracellular vesicles (EVs) has not yet been defined. Here, we show that E-cadherin is incorporated into the membrane of EVs with the extracellular domain exposed at the vesicle surface.
