We report a hyperspectral Raman imaging lidar system that can remotely detect and identify typical plastic species. The system is based on a frequency-doubled, Q-switched Nd:YAG laser operating at 532 nm and an imaging spectrograph equipped with a gated intensified CCD spectrometer. Stand-off detection of plastics is achieved at 6 m away with a relatively wide field of view of 1 × 150 mm, thus providing the groundwork for better solutions in monitoring marine plastic pollution.

  • * The Orbit study aimed to evaluate real-world outcomes for adults with CLL/SLL in Japan treated with ibrutinib between July 2018 and December 2020, including 246 patients in total.
  • * After 36 months, the study showed an 80.9% progression-free survival rate for first-line treatment and 67.2% for relapsed cases, with common significant side effects including bleeding and infections, underscoring ibr

Article Synopsis
  • Femoral neck fractures (FNFs) are common among older adults and are often treated with internal fixation, but complications like nonunion can require further surgery.
  • A new parameter called the "Kindex" was developed to assess the risk of nonunion, as existing radiographic measures were limited to two dimensions.
  • In a study of 594 patients, the Kindex and renal impairment emerged as independent risk factors for nonunion, with a noted occurrence of nonunion in 2.2% of cases.

Background: To investigate whether the addition of eltrombopag (EPAG) to rabbit anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG)-based immunosuppressive therapy (IST) for newly diagnosed severe aplastic anemia (SAA) improves outcomes and affects the cumulative incidence of clonal evolution (CE), we conducted a multicenter retrospective analysis.

Methods: Data were collected from 101 patients, aged 15 - 65 years, undergoing initial IST.

Results: No significant imbalance in age, sex, or severity was observed between the EPAG (n = 20) and non-EPAG (n = 81) groups.

Background: Gastrointestinal mucormycosis is a rapidly progressing and often fatal disease, predominantly affecting immunocompromised patients. Surgical intervention, in addition to antifungal therapy, is essential. Herein, we describe the successful management of appendiceal mucormycosis in a patient with acute promyelocytic leukemia through rapid surgical intervention and antifungal therapy.
