Introduction: Studies have shown varying patient adherence to long-term non-invasive positive airway pressure therapy (nPAP). We aimed to investigate adherence to long-term nPAP in a Danish cohort of patients with chronic respiratory insufficiency and/or sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) due to neuromuscular disorders (NMD), obesity-hypoventilation syndrome (OHS) or other reasons.
Methods: This cohort study included all adult patients with association to the Respiratory Center East treated with long-term nPAP: bilevel (BiPAP), automatic (APAP) and continuous (CPAP) or adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) with a remote monitoring system in April 2022.
Cytokine-primed neutrophils can undergo a nonapoptotic type of cell death using components of the necroptotic pathway, including receptor-interacting protein kinase-3 (RIPK3), mixed lineage kinase-like (MLKL) and NADPH oxidase. In this report, we provide evidence for a potential role of serine proteases in CD44-mediated necroptotic death of GM-CSF-primed human neutrophils. Specifically, we observed that several inhibitors known to block the enzymatic function of fibroblast activation protein-α (FAP-α) were able to block CD44-mediated reactive oxygen species production and cell death, but not FAS receptor-mediated apoptosis.

Our understanding of the cellular characteristics and functions of IL-9-producing T cells in humans is still nascent. Here, we report that human IL-9-producing T cells express the chemokine receptors CCR4 and CCR8, produce high levels of IL-5 and IL-13, and express T2 lineage-associated transcription factors.
