MR urography (MRU) is an imaging technique that provides comprehensive evaluation of the kidneys, pelvicalyceal system, ureters, and urinary bladder. Although CT urography (CTU) remains the first-line imaging modality for the urinary tract, incremental improvements in MRU have allowed simultaneous imaging of the kidneys, collecting system, and urinary bladder with superior contrast resolution and tissue characterization, equivalent visualization of the upper tracts, and similar specificity for detection of noncalculous diseases of the collecting system compared with that of CTU. MRU has evolved into an alternative to CTU in the broader patient population and a first-line examination in specific patient populations for which CTU is less preferred.

Venous hypertension due to anatomical venous insufficiency (superficial or deep venous valvular reflux and venous obstruction) and/or functional venous insufficiency (calf dysfunction, dependent edema, lymphatic dysfunction, elevated central venous pressures, etc.) leads to chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and its sequelae. The most severe clinical manifestation of CVI is venous leg ulcer (VLU), which leads to substantial morbidity and disability.

Gunshot residue (GSR) particles, generated during firearm discharge, disperse in the surrounding environment according to physical laws governing the motion of particles. This study analyzes GSR distribution from 9 × 19 mm ammunition along the trajectory with a fixed target. GSR particle count follows a bell-shaped distribution, influenced by velocity, temperature, and burn rate.

Background: Rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) are vital for malaria diagnosis, especially in resource-limited areas. RDTs targeting histidine-rich protein 2 (PfHRP2) and its structural homologue PfHRP3 are commonly used for detecting Plasmodium falciparum. However, genetic deletions in these proteins can affect test accuracy.

Background/objectives: Cholelithiasis is the most common cause of acute pancreatitis in pregnancy. We analyzed trends in acute biliary pancreatitis (ABP) among pregnant women over the past two decades to evaluate changes in outcomes, including the incidence of severe acute pancreatitis, mortality rates, and hospital length of stay.

Methods: Using the National Inpatient Sample, we identified adult women of childbearing age (age 18-50 years) with hospitalization for ABP from 2002 to 2020.
