Cortical formins, pivotal for the assembly of linear actin filaments beneath the membrane, exert only minor effects on unconfined cell migration of weakly and moderately adherent cells. However, their impact on migration and mechanostability of highly adherent cells remains poorly understood. Here, we demonstrate that loss of cortical actin filaments generated by the formins mDia1 and mDia3 drastically compromises cell migration and mechanics in highly adherent fibroblasts.

Background And Objective: Magnetic resonance guided radiotherapy (MRgRT) is an emerging technological innovation with more and more institutions gaining clinical experience in this new field of radiation oncology. The ability to better visualize both tumors and healthy tissues due to excellent soft tissue contrast combined with new possibilities regarding motion management and the capability of online adaptive radiotherapy might increase tumor control rates while potentially reducing the risk of radiation-induced toxicities. As conventional computed tomography (CT)-based image guidance methods are insufficient for adaptive workflows in abdominal tumors, MRgRT appears to be an optimal method for this tumor site.

Purpose: To compare the patient-reported outcomes between patients with posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction or repair alone versus PCL reconstruction or repair with internal bracing (IB) in the context of multi-ligament knee injuries (MLKI).

Methods: All patients who underwent surgical management of MLKI at two institutions between 2006 and 2020 were retrospectively identified and offered participation in the study. Patient reported outcomes were measured via three instruments: Lysholm Knee score, Multiligament Quality of Life (ML-QOL), and the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) computer adaptive testing (CAT).
