Background: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is commonly treated with methylphenidate (MPH). Although highly effective, MPH treatment still has a relatively high non-response rate of around 30%, highlighting the need for a better understanding of treatment response. Radiomics of T1-weighted images and Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) combined with machine learning approaches could offer a novel method for assessing MPH treatment response.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study aimed to explore how depression and anxiety impact the ability of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) patients to achieve disease remission, as well as how these mental health symptoms interact with various aspects of disease activity.
  • - Researchers assessed 400 RA patients and 367 PsA patients over two years, finding that high levels of anxiety and depression were linked to a lower chance of remission, especially depression when controlled for anxiety symptoms.
  • - The results indicated that patients showing signs of depression or anxiety had worse overall health and more pain, pointing to the need for healthcare professionals to pay close attention to mental health in patients with RA and PsA.

We introduce a new ionization technique for compact, portable mass spectrometers. It consists of a syringe with sample liquid capped by a self-ionizing spray nozzle containing a microfabricated nozzle chip. Interaction of the sample liquid with the nozzle wall results in electrical charging without the need for electronics.
