Replacement of extended aortic arch aneurysm using partial sternotomy under beating heart and continuous cardiac perfusion.

We report the case of a 72-year-old male patient who presented with a progressive aortic arch aneurysm. To reduce surgical trauma, we planned the procedure using an upper partial sternotomy with continuous cardiac perfusion and moderate hypothermia. Two vents were inserted to provide sufficient relief to the heart during perfusion.

Importance: Sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (sCJD) is a rare, rapidly progressive and fatal neurodegenerative disease. Definite sCJD diagnosis can only be made post mortem, and little is known about the prodromal phase of the disease.

Objective: To compare drug prescription patterns before the clinical onset of sCJD between patients and matched controls for exploration of potential risk factors and to assess correlations between drug exposure and sCJD survival.

Objectives: A core outcome set (COS) giving indicators of the quality of the process for minimally invasive valve surgery embedded into enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols should be developed.

Methods: Using web-based questionnaires, a Delphi process with three rounds was conducted from January to December 2022. Prior to the rounds, a systematic database search was performed identifying potential quality parameters.
