Background: The importance of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in various biological processes has been increasingly recognized in recent years. This study investigated how gene polymorphism in HOX transcript antisense RNA (HOTAIR) lncRNA affects the predisposition to chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Methods: This study comprised 150 patients with CKD and 150 healthy controls.
Background And Objectives: Host genetic changes like single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are one of the main factors influencing susceptibility to viral infectious diseases. This study aimed to investigate the association between the host SNP of Toll-Like Receptor3 (TLR3) and Toll-Like Receptor7 (TLR7) genes involved in the immune system and susceptibility to COVID-19 in a sample of the Iranian population.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective case-control study evaluated 244 hospitalized COVID-19 patients as the case group and 156 suspected COVID-19 patients with mild signs as the control group.

The current study presents the electronic and magnetic properties of monolayer ZrSenanoribbons. The impact of various point defects in the form of Zr or Se vacancies, and their combinations, on the nanoribbon electronic and magnetic properties are investigated using density functional theory calculations in hydrogen-terminated zigzag and armchair ZrSenanoribbons. Although pristine ZrSeis non-magnetic, all the defective ZrSestructures exhibit ferromagnetic behavior.

We pretreated the human neuroblastoma SH-SY5 cells with the extract and AgNPs and evaluated the neuroprotective activity of these agents against methamphetamine (Meth) cytotoxicity. The NPs were spherical with 19 ± 8 nm size, - 28 mV surface charge, and 0.

Probiotic bacteria, in this regard, have shown promising performance. In this study, we isolated and characterized lactic acid bacteria from traditional cheese.
