  • Out of 330 fecal samples tested, 14.2% were positive for Blastocystis, with differing infection rates in cattle (0.93%), sheep (17.4%), and goats (24.1%).
  • Four subtypes (STs) of Blastocystis were identified, with ST14 being the most prevalent in ruminants and suggesting that livestock may serve as reservoirs for potential infections in humans.
