[Clinical importance of infective agent persistence in Salmonella infection in children].

The persistence properties of 70 S. enteriditis cultures and 12 S. typhimurium cultures isolated from the feces of children of the earliest age groups with the gastrointestinal form of Salmonellosis infection were studied.

[Experience with the use of streptokinase in acute myocardial infarct at the prehospital stage].

The authors analyze the experience gained with the systemic thrombolytic therapy (STLT) at the prehospital stage of the treatment of acute myocardial infarction by specialized emergency cardiological teams. The screening of patients to be given STLT was performed via the remote diagnostic center. STLT was provided to 43 patients who were given intravenous injections of 500,000 PU streptokinase (Avalizin, GDR) for 15-30 minutes.

[Thrombolytic therapy in acute myocardial infarction at the pre-hospital stage].

Mobile teams of the Leningrad Emergency Station came to use prehospital thrombolytic therapy (TT) for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in 1986. The trial reported includes three groups of AMI patients: group I of 67 patients received avelysin in a dose of 0.5 mln FU, group II of 35 patients received celyase in a dose of 1 mln FU, group III consisted of 47 control subjects.

[Results of radiation and chemoradiation therapy in esophageal cancer].

Eight therapeutic variants were worked out for 602 patients with esophageal cancer: 61 patients entered in the control group. The latter received routine radiation therapy. The results of therapy of 496 patients were studied.

[Combined radiotherapy of esophageal cancer].

The paper is concerned with the results of combined radiotherapy of 60 esophageal cancer patients. Indications for combined radiotherapy were the minimum lumen of the esophagus (8-10 mm), limited local spreading of a tumor, and the absence of distant metastases. Among the patients there were 46 men, 14 women, their mean age was 56-8.
