Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare, locally invasive cutaneous sarcoma with a high propensity for recurrence, even following complete surgical excision. DFSP exhibits a low metastatic potential and is characterized by a distinctive honeycomb-like architecture composed of uniformly arranged spindle cells that frequently show CD34 immunostaining. Common surgical approaches include wide local excision (WLE), Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS), and, in severe cases, amputation.

Splenic cysts, although rare, present a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge due to their varied etiologies and clinical manifestations. This review synthesizes the current understanding of splenic cysts through an analysis of thirteen case reports spanning from 1988 to 2023. Etiologies include epithelial, parasitic, and sarcomatous origins.

The trafficking of transient receptor potential (TRP) channels to the plasma membrane and the release of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) from trigeminal ganglion neurons (TGNs) are implicated in some aspects of chronic migraines. These exocytotic processes are inhibited by cleavage of SNAREs with botulinum neurotoxins (BoNTs); moreover, type A toxin (/A) clinically reduces the frequency and severity of migraine attacks but not in all patients for unknown reasons. Herein, neonatal rat TGNs were stimulated with allyl isothiocyanate (AITC), a TRPA1 agonist, and dose relationships were established to link the resultant exocytosis of CGRP with Ca2+ influx.
