Introduction: Hysteroscopic septoplasty is a safe and routinely used procedure for the treatment of septate uterus. The aim of this paper is to determine which hysteroscopic technique (scissors, monopolar/bipolar diathermy) is superior for post-treatment reproductive outcome.
Evidence Acquisition: Two different hysteroscopic septoplasty instruments (scissors and monopolar/bipolar diathermy) were compared, focusing on the pregnancy outcome.
Objective: Plant sterol (PS) supplementation has been widely used alone or combined with lipid-lowering therapies (LLTs) to reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. The effects of PS added to high-intensity LLT are less reported, especially regarding the effects on cholesterol synthesis and absorption.
Methods: A prospective, randomized, open-label study, with parallel arms and blinded end points was designed to evaluate the effects of addition of PS to LLT on LDL cholesterol, markers of cholesterol synthesis, and absorption.
Background: The primary aim of this case-control study was to compare women whose pregnancy was complicated with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), diagnosed by the new International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups (IADPSG) criteria, with a control group of healthy, pregnant women in terms of incidence of large- (LGA) and small-for-gestational-age (SGA) neonates. Our secondary aim was to compare intrauterine growth of fetuses between the same 2 populations.
Patients And Methods: The study included 289 women diagnosed as having GDM in the current pregnancy and 1 108 pregnant controls.

Effective statin therapy is associated with a marked reduction of cardiovascular events. However, the explanation for full benefits obtained for LDL cholesterol targets by combined lipid-lowering therapy is controversial.
