Although the anatomical arrangement of brain regions and the functional structures within them are similar across individuals, the representation of neural information, such as recorded brain activity, varies among individuals owing to various factors. Therefore, appropriate conversion and translation of brain information is essential when decoding neural information using a model trained using another person's data or to achieving brain-to-brain communication. We propose a brain representation transfer method that involves transforming a data representation obtained from one person's brain into that obtained from another person's brain, without relying on corresponding label information between the transferred datasets.

Article Synopsis
  • The study highlights the challenge of delivering mRNA therapies effectively into oligodendrocytes, a type of brain cell, as traditional viral vectors aren't effective.
  • Researchers utilized LUNAR lipid nanoparticles to achieve high efficiency and specificity in delivering mRNA to these cells, leveraging low-density lipoprotein receptors with the help of apoprotein E.
  • A single dose of LUNAR-human galactosylceramidase mRNA significantly improved the health and survival of twitcher mice, a model for Krabbe disease, showcasing the potential of this method for treating neurological disorders related to oligodendrocytes.

Background: Little is known about whether central airway morphological changes beyond traction bronchiectasis develop and affect clinical outcomes in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). This study aimed to compare central airway structure comprehensively between patients with IPF, subjects with interstitial lung abnormality (ILA), and those without ILA (control) using computed tomography (CT). We further examined the prognostic impact of IPF-specific CT airway parameters in patients with IPF.
