Background: Nail unit melanoma (NUM) is increasingly treated with digit-sparing surgery, but few published case series describe Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) for NUM.
Objective: To describe the surgical technique, local recurrence rates, and reconstruction method for a large series of NUM treated with MMS using MART-1 immunostaining.
Methods: Biopsy-proven NUM treated with MMS-MART-1 were identified from a prospectively maintained database (2008-2023).
Objectives: To provide a narrative review of disordered lymphatic dynamics and its impact on critical care relevant condition management.
Data Sources: Detailed search strategy using PubMed and Ovid Medline for English language articles (2013-2023) describing congenital or acquired lymphatic abnormalities including lymphatic duct absence, injury, leak, or obstruction and their associated clinical conditions that might be managed by a critical care medicine practitioner.
Study Selection: Studies that specifically addressed abnormalities of lymphatic flow and their management were selected.
Introduction: Abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR) with ventral hernia repair (VHR) in the setting of contamination poses unique and controversial challenges. The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy of onlay resorbable biosynthetic mesh against underlay biologic mesh in contaminated VHR with AWR.
Methods: A single-center retrospective review from 2015 to 2021 was performed examining subjects who underwent VHR with AWR in contaminated fields (Centers for Disease Control wound class II-IV).
