Background: The association between systolic blood pressure and all-cause mortality differs between frail and nonfrail individuals, highlighting uncertainties about the effectiveness of antihypertensive treatments in frail populations.

Methods: Using data from the SHEP trial (Systolic Hypertension in the Elderly Program), a baseline frailty index (FI), including 55 variables, was constructed. Fine-Gray subdistribution hazard models and Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to explore the association between baseline FI and the risks of stroke, cardiovascular disease, and all-cause death, as well as to examine whether the impact of antihypertensive treatment on these outcomes was modified by baseline FI.

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) rebounding during composting cooling phase is a critical bottleneck in composting technology that increased ARGs dissemination and application risk of compost products. In this study, mature compost (MR) was used as a substitute for rice husk (RH) to mitigate the rebound of ARGs and mobile genetic elements (MGEs) during the cooling phase of sewage sludge composting, and the relationship among ARGs, MGEs, bacterial community and environmental factors was investigated to explore the key factor influencing ARGs rebound. Rhodium-catalyzed regio- and enantioselective allylic arylation of racemic alkyl- and aryl- substituted allylic carbonates with arylboronic acids using commercially available BIBOP ligand is reported. This reaction proceeds at room temperature without base or other additive to deliver allylic arylation products in excellent yields, regio- and enantioselectivity (up to 95% yield, >20:1 b/l, >99% ee). Rh/BIBOP is disclosed as an efficient catalytic system for allylic substitution reaction.

Objective: To examine the characteristics and risk factors associated with 30-day readmissions, including the impact of home health care (HHC), among older sepsis survivors transitioning from hospital to home.

Research Design: Retrospective cohort study of the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC)-IV data (2008-2019), using generalized estimating equations (GEE) models adjusting for patient sociodemographic and clinical characteristics.

Subjects: Sepsis admission episodes with in-hospital stays, aged over 65, and discharged home with or without HHC were included.
