Article Synopsis
  • Neuroblastoma (NB) is a highly dangerous pediatric cancer, and current treatments for high-risk patients are not very effective, prompting research into new therapies.
  • Two new PP2A activators, ATUX-3364 and ATUX-8385, were tested in various NB cell lines and in animal models, revealing that they can activate PP2A and significantly reduce cancer cell viability, growth, and movement.
  • The study found that these activators not only hinder tumor growth in live models but also impact MYCN protein levels, suggesting potential for developing targeted therapies against MYCN in treating neuroblastoma.

Background: In-home remote foot temperature monitoring (RTM) holds promise as a method to reduce foot ulceration in high-risk patients with diabetes. Few studies have evaluated adherence to this method or evaluated the factors associated with noncompliance.

Objective: The aims of this study were to estimate noncompliance in patients who were enrolled in RTM nationwide across Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and to evaluate characteristics associated with noncompliance.

Article Synopsis
  • Many skin diseases start with inflammation at a molecular level, so understanding these mechanisms is crucial for better treatment options.
  • The research highlights various stages of the inflammatory response, including issues with immunity and interactions between immune and nerve systems.
  • The review focuses on recent studies from 2019 to 2024 that explore inflammatory processes in skin diseases like psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, emphasizing their potential for therapeutic breakthroughs.

Capacitance of biological membranes is determined by the properties of the lipid portion of the membrane as well as the morphological features of a cell. In neurons, membrane capacitance is a determining factor of synaptic integration, action potential propagation speed, and firing frequency due to its direct effect on the membrane time constant. Besides slow changes associated with increased morphological complexity during postnatal maturation, neuronal membrane capacitance is considered a stable, non-regulated, and constant magnitude.

Objective: We assessed equity in the uptake of remote foot temperature monitoring (RTM) for amputation prevention throughout a large, integrated US healthcare system between 2019 and 2021, including comparisons across facilities and between patients enrolled and eligible patients not enrolled in RTM focusing on the Reach and Adoption dimensions of the Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation, and Maintenance (RE-AIM) framework.

Material And Methods: To assess whether there was equitable use of RTM across facilities, we examined distributions of patient demographic, geographic, and facility characteristics across facility RTM use categories (e.g.
