Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to systematically investigate symptoms associated with commonly prescribed homeopathic medicines using Bayesian statistics for more accurate likelihood ratios (LR).
  • Conducted over 21 months with 1,954 patients, the research utilized the ORIDL scale to measure treatment outcomes and calculated LRs for four specific symptoms linked to six selected homeopathic remedies.
  • Findings revealed high LR+ scores for symptoms like "dyspepsia from business anxiety" and "burning pain relieved by heat," supporting existing homeopathic literature, but emphasized the need for further research to confirm results in larger populations.

Unlabelled: To determine if RAM cannula is non-inferior to short binasal prongs (SBP) in providing nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) in preterm infants with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). In this randomized, open-label, noninferiority trial from a low-middle-income country, we enrolled 254 preterm infants (28-34 weeks gestational age) with RDS who needed CPAP as primary respiratory support. The eligible infants were randomized to either RAM cannula or SBP interface groups.

Recent polymer and metal additive manufacturing technologies were proven capable of building complex structures with high accuracy. Although their final products differ significantly in terms of mechanical properties and building cost, many structural optimization studies were performed with either one without systematic justification. Therefore, this study investigated whether the Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) and Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) methodologies can provide similar conclusions when performing geometrical manipulations for optimizing structural crashworthiness.

A tandem synthesis of quinazolinones from 2-aminobenzonitriles is demonstrated here by using an aliphatic alcohol-water system. For this transformation, a cheap and easily available cobalt salt and P(CHCHPPh) (PP) ligand were employed. The substrate scope, scalability, and synthesis of natural products exhibited the vitality of this protocol.
