Tirzepatide is a novel glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist (RA) that is approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D). Despite its similarities to GLP-1 RA, there is a lack of data on how to switch between GLP-1 RA and GIP/GLP-1 RA. The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of switching from GLP-1 RA to tirzepatide in patients with T2D and provide guidance for switching between the two classes.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a complication associated with vancomycin use. There is evidence that this was related to the presence of supratherapeutic vancomycin levels rather than the drug itself. The area under the curve over 24 h to minimum inhibitory concentration (AUC/MIC) dosing for vancomycin has replaced trough-based dosing, but the impact of this change on AKI rates remains unclear.

Background: Revision laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery (RLARS) is effective in alleviating the typical symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). RLARS outcomes in patients with atypical GERD symptoms has not been well established. A composite Reflux Symptom Index (RSI) score greater than 13 indicates extraesophageal manifestation of pathological reflux.
