Objective: To investigate the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of rocuronium administered by bolus injection to sevoflurane-anesthetized horses.
Study Design: Prospective, experimental, crossover study.
Animals: Five healthy adult Thoroughbred horses (body mass 368-470 kg, three females and two males).
Objective: Osteoarthritis, a degenerative joint disease, requires innovative therapies due to the limited ability of cartilage to regenerate. Since mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) provide a cell source for chondrogenic cells, we hypothesize that chemicals capable of enhancing the chondrogenic potential of MSCs with transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβ) in vitro may similarly promote chondrogenesis in articular cartilage in vivo.
Design: Chemical compounds that enhance the TGFβ signaling for chondrogenesis were investigated utilizing mesenchymal stem cells derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells.
An outbreak of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses exhibiting cross-resistance to oseltamivir and peramivir occurred in Yokohama, Japan, in September 2024. Among 24 students in a class, 11 were diagnosed with influenza or influenza-like illness, and viruses harbouring the NA H275Y and HA Q210H substitutions were isolated from four. Deep sequencing analysis confirmed the clonal spread of these mutants.

However, due to their hPSC-line-dependent mesenchymal development and spherical morphology, HIOs have limited applicability beyond basic research and development. Here, we demonstrate the incorporation of separately differentiated mesodermal and mid/hindgut cells into assembled spheroids to stabilize mesenchymal growth in HIOs.
