We explore the efficacy of multimodal behavioral cues for explainable prediction of personality and interview-specific traits. We utilize elementary head-motion units named kinemes, atomic facial movements termed action units and speech features to estimate these human-centered traits. Empirical results confirm that kinemes and action units enable discovery of multiple trait-specific behaviors while also enabling explainability in support of the predictions.

Protein-based stable isotope probing (protein-SIP) can link microbial taxa to substrate assimilation. Traditionally, protein-SIP requires a sample-specific metagenome-derived database for samples with unknown composition. Here, we describe GroEL-prototyping-based stable isotope probing (GroEL-SIP), that uses GroEL as a taxonomic marker protein to identify bacterial taxa (GroEL-proteotyping) coupled to SIP directly linking identified taxa to substrate consumption.

Metastasis is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths, yet understanding how metastatic tumors adapt from their origin to their target tissues remains a fundamental challenge. To address this, we assessed whether primary and metastatic tumors more closely resemble their tissues of origin or target tissues in terms of gene expression. We analyzed expression profiles from multiple cancer types and normal tissues, including single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing data from both paired and unpaired patient cohorts.
