Introduction And Importance: We present the case of a 17 years old girl with per rectal haemorrhage secondary to pelvic arteriovenous malformations (AVM) and potentially haemorrhoids. Pelvic AVMs are rare and extremely variable in their clinical presentation, size and location and pose a therapeutic challenge. Focus has turned towards interventional radiological procedures with angioembolisation as the main treatment form for pelvic AVMs.

Pseudomyxoma peritonei is a rare peritoneal malignancy characterized by the progressive accumulation of mucinous material and tumour within the abdomen and pelvis. Percutaneous drainage of mucin may be a non-surgical option for relief of symptoms; however, it remains difficult due to the high viscosity of mucin, with numerous case reports reporting difficulty removing material through medium-bore catheters alone. BromAc is a therapy currently undergoing development which dissolves mucinous tumour masses and allows for extraction.

In this chapter we provide some tools to study the ciliary proteins that make it possible for Paramecium cells to swim by beating their cilia. These proteins include many ion channels, accessory proteins, peripheral proteins, structural proteins, rootlets of cilia, and enzymes. Some of these proteins are also found in the soma membrane, but their distinct and critical functions are in the cilia.
