Diagnostic features of functional/ dissociative seizures in the first presentation of transient loss of consciousness.

Objectives: Previous studies have identified features in patient's history and seizure descriptions supporting a clinical diagnosis of functional / dissociative seizures (FDS). However, most studies involved patients with chronic seizure disorders. This study explores the value of reported features for a clinical diagnosis of FDS in an adult population with a first presentation of transient loss of consciousness (TLoC).

Targeting Oestrogen Receptor Signalling in Breast Cancer Therapy.

There has been over 130 years of research into the treatment of breast cancer using approaches that target oestrogen receptor signalling. Here, we summarise the development of the key pillars of such endocrine therapy, namely, oestrogen deprivation, achieved through ovarian suppression and/or aromatase inhibition, and oestrogen receptor blockade, through selective oestrogen receptor modulators, downregulators and novel compounds entering early phase development. The translation of these compounds from advanced to early breast cancer settings is discussed with a focus on the placebo-controlled breast cancer prevention studies to most accurately describe the side effect profiles of the main approaches.

Electrical Heterogeneity in Hispanic Background Subpopulations: The HCHS/SOL.

Background: The Hispanic/Latino population is not uniform. Prevalence and clinical outcomes of cardiac arrhythmias in ethnic background subgroups are variable, but the reasons for differences are unclear. Vectorcardiographic Global Electrical Heterogeneity (GEH) has been shown to be associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes.

Development and Evaluation of a Remote Monitoring Regional Adjuvant Abemaciclib Service for Patients With High-Risk Early Breast Cancer.

Introduction: Adjuvant abemaciclib was recently approved in high-risk early breast cancer, leading to an increase in oncology resource utilisation. We thus developed a regional, remote monitoring clinical service. The set-up, delivery processes and outcomes from the first 6 months' consecutive patients are presented.

Medial Deviation of a 6° Prosthetic Trochlear Groove After Kinematically Aligned Total Knee Arthroplasty Occurs in Four Types of Coronal Plane Alignment of the Knee (CPAK) and Decreases the Forgotten Joint Score.

Background: The study focused on kinematically aligned total knee arthroplasty (KA TKA). It identified which coronal plane alignment of the knee (CPAK) types are associated with a higher proportion of medial deviation of the 6° prosthetic trochlear groove (PTG) relative to the quadriceps' line of pull and whether medial deviation adversely affected the Forgotten Joint Score (FJS). The research calculated the minimum PTG angle required to prevent medial deviation by at least 2° in all patients.
