Revised definition of obesity in Asian Indians living in India.

Aim: The prevailing guidelines for obesity in Asian Indians, published in 2009, relied solely on body mass index (BMI) criteria. Recognizing the limitations of BMI in accurately diagnosing obesity and the emergence of new research revealing the association between generalized and abdominal adiposity in Asian Indians and early-onset co-morbid diseases, a comprehensive redefinition was needed.

Method: In a Delphi process focused on obesity in India, experts were invited via email to participate in five rounds.

Pulmonary Dysfunction in Children with Dystrophinopathy: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Objectives: To observe the prevalence of impaired pulmonary function during various phases of the disease course in children aged 5-18 y with dystrophinopathy. The correlation between different parameters of pulmonary dysfunction and motor function was also studied.

Methods: One hundred and thirty-three confirmed cases of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), fulfilling predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria were evaluated.

Unlabelled: Cerebral palsy (CP) is not just caused by neuromuscular abnormalities; it is also a result of an impaired sensory system. Since there is not a standardized measure to evaluate sensory processing of children with spastic CP, therefore an in-depth assessment of sensory processing deficits in children with spastic CP would require an understanding of the validity and reliability of the Child Sensory Profile-2 (CSP-2) in children with spastic CP. The sample of this study included 230 children with spastic CP aged 3 to 14 years who referred to different paediatric rehabilitation centres of Delhi-NCR from April 2021 and September 2023 by using the snowball sampling procedure.

High-resolution cryo-EM using a common LaB 120-keV electron microscope equipped with a sub-200-keV direct electron detector.

High-resolution cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) requires costly 200- to 300-keV cryo-transmission electron microscopes (cryo-TEMs) with field emission gun (FEG) sources, stable columns, constant-powered lenses, autoloader, and direct electron detectors (DED). Recent advances in 100-keV imaging with the emergence of sub-200-keV optimized DED technology promises the development of more affordable cryo-TEMs. So far, 100-keV imaging has required microscopes with FEG sources.

Synovial fluid dual-biomarker algorithm accurately differentiates osteoarthritis from inflammatory arthritis.

Osteoarthritis (OA) prevalence increases as the population ages. Diagnosing osteoarthritis often occurs in the late stages when cartilage degradation is severe, making it difficult to distinguish from other types of arthritis. Accurate differentiation of primary osteoarthritis from other arthritic conditions is crucial for effective treatment planning.
