Introduction: Optimising the micronutrient status of women before and during reproduction confers benefits to them and their offspring. Antenatal multiple micronutrient supplements (MMS), given as a daily tablet with nutrients at ~1 recommended dietary allowance (RDA) or adequate intake (AI) reduces adverse birth outcomes. However, at this dosage, MMS may not fully address micronutrient deficiencies in settings with chronically inadequate diets and infection.

The high specificity and potency of these toxins for their target ion channels provides enticing opportunities for their deployment as tools in channel biology. Mechanistic studies on toxin-mediated ion channel modulation have yielded landmark breakthroughs in our understanding of channel architectures and gating mechanisms.

It highlights the role of altered neurotrophin and growth factor signaling in disrupting neuronal health and cognitive performance. It elucidates the intricate interactions between oxidative stress, DNA damage, neurotransmitter disruption, and cellular signaling alterations, underscoring the vital importance of the glial cells.

Background: An endoscopic screening program following successful weaning from prolonged mechanical ventilation maintained through endotracheal tube (ET; ) may be justified to assess the upper (laryngotracheal) airway in children who may not always be symptomatic for intubation-related complications.
Objectives: To evaluate effects of prolonged intubation in children through endoscopic screening of the laryngotracheal airway.
Methods: In this cross-sectional pilot project, children (2 months-12 years) successfully extubated following prolonged intubation were selected, irrespective of having symptoms, for a 1-time flexible nasolaryngoscopy at third to sixth month post-extubation (follow-up window).
