Dengue structural proteins as antiviral drug targets: Current status in the drug discovery & development.

Dengue virus belongs to the class of RNA viruses and subclass of enveloped single-stranded positive-sense RNA virus. It causes dengue fever (DF), dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), or dengue shock syndrome (DSS), where DHF and DSS are life-threatening. Even though dengue is an age-old disease, it is still a mystery and continues to be a global threat.

A non-enzymatic electrochemical sensor based on ZrO: Cu(I) nanosphere modified carbon paste electrode for electro-catalytic oxidative detection of glucose in raw Citrus aurantium var. sinensis.

In this work, a sensitive and stable ZrO-Cu(I) nanosphere mesoporous material modified non-enzymatic glucose sensor has been developed through simple, low cost chemistry. ZrO-Cu(I) material was obtained by controlled co-precipitation method under ultra dilution conditions. Cyclic voltammetric tests were performed in order to evaluate the electrocatalytic activity ZrO-Cu(I) modified electrode.

Manual liquid based cytology in primary screening for cervical cancer--a cost effective preposition for scarce resource settings.

Conventional pap smear (CPS) examination has been the mainstay for early detection of cervical cancer. However, its widespread use has not been possible due to the inherent limitations, like presence of obscuring blood and inflammation, reducing its sensitivity considerably. Automated methods in use in developed countries may not be affordable in the developing countries due to paucity of resources.
