Investigating the association between allergic diseases and COVID-19 in 400 Iranian patients.

Introduction: Allergic diseases could play a role of a predisposing factor for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The aim of this study was to investigate allergic comorbidity and its association in COVID-19 patients.

Methods: Demographic data, clinical manifestations, laboratory reports, and radiologic findings, together with underlying comorbidity of patients, were studies.

Influence of A Continuous Very Low Dose of Gamma-Rays on Cell Proliferation, Apoptosis and Oxidative Stress.

We have previously shown a delay of death by lymphoma in SJL/J mice irradiated with continuous very low doses of ionizing radiation. In order to understand the mechanisms involved in this phenomenon, we have irradiated in vitro the Raw264.7 monocytic and the YAC-1 lymphoma cell lines at very low-dose rate of 4cGy.

Adult human progenitor cells from the temporal lobe: another source of neuronal cells.

Objectives: In the adult human brain, neurogenesis occurs in the SVZ and the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus, but it is still unclear whether persistent neural progenitor/stem cells are also present in other brain areas. The present work studies the possibility of obtaining neural progenitor/stem cells from the temporal lobe and investigates their potential to differentiate into neuronal cells.

Methods: Human biopsies from the temporal lobe of epileptic patients were used to isolate potential neural progenitors.

SPME and GC-MS analysis of triethylene glycol dimethacrylate released from dental composite.

A solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coupled with gas chromatography followed by mass spectrometry was developed for the determination of triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) in aqueous media originated from cured dental composite. Cylindrical specimens of a common dental composite were cured and immersed for 48 h in 3 mL portions of human saliva and also some non-biologic media e.g.
