We realize a Laughlin state of two rapidly rotating fermionic atoms in an optical tweezer. By utilizing a single atom and spin resolved imaging technique, we sample the Laughlin wave function thereby revealing its distinctive features, including a vortex distribution in the relative motion, correlations in the particles' relative angle, and suppression of the interparticle interactions. Our Letter lays the foundation for atom-by-atom assembly of fractional quantum Hall states in rotating atomic gases.

The formation of strongly correlated fermion pairs is fundamental for the emergence of fermionic superfluidity and superconductivity. For instance, Cooper pairs made of two electrons of opposite spin and momentum at the Fermi surface of the system are a key ingredient of Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) theory-the microscopic explanation of the emergence of conventional superconductivity. Understanding the mechanism behind pair formation is an ongoing challenge in the study of many strongly correlated fermionic systems.

The paper is focused on a verification of the moisture content of fiberboard insulations in the multilayer loadbearing log wall designed with and without the vapor barrier. Experimental verification was done using a sample of the multilayer loadbearing log wall built in a research timber structure building under in-situ conditions. Indoor properties of the building met conditions for human occupancy.

The Pauli exclusion principle is a fundamental law underpinning the structure of matter. Because of their antisymmetric wave function, no two fermions can occupy the same quantum state. Here, we report on the direct observation of the Pauli principle in a continuous system of up to six particles in the ground state of a two-dimensional harmonic oscillator.
