Anxiety and depression among various blood groups of undergraduate medical and physical therapy students.

Objective: To access the frequency of depression and anxiety among the various blood groups of medical and physiotherapy students.

Method: A cross-sectional study on 215 MBBS and DPT students was conducted at Aziz Fatimah Medical and Dental College (AFMDC) from November 2022-May 2023. Google Form containing sections for relevant information concerning participants and fourteen items- Hospital anxiety and depression Scale (HADS) questionnaire for evaluation of anxiety and depression, was administered among the MBBS and DPT students through social media.

Efficacy and safety of aldosterone synthase inhibitors in hypertension: A systematic review and meta- analysis.

Hypertension is a prevalent condition that significantly contributes to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality worldwide. Aldosterone, a key hormone in the regulation of blood pressure, has been implicated in the pathophysiology of hypertension, leading to increased interest in aldosterone synthase inhibitors (ASIs) as a therapeutic option. This meta-analysis aims to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of ASIs in reducing blood pressure and associated adverse events in older adults with hypertension, providing a comprehensive overview of current evidence to inform clinical practice.

Protocol of digital decision support system (DDSS) embedded within a tele-primary healthcare platform in Pakistan: an assessment of usability, acceptability, effectiveness and perceived quality of care in a resource-constrained setting.

Background: A digital decision support system in healthcare is a digital health intervention that assists healthcare professionals in decision-making by providing treatment recommendations and enhancing diagnostic accuracy and quality of care. This will be the first study in Pakistan to assess the system's usability, acceptability and effectiveness in improving healthcare outcomes while also evaluating the perceived quality of care. This comprehensive assessment will inform policy development in areas such as the scale-up of digital health interventions, data privacy and technology interoperability.

A Novel Induction-Type Pressure Sensor based on Magneto-Stress Impedance and Magnetoelastic Coupling Effect for Monitoring Hand Rehabilitation.

Visualization of training effectiveness is critical to patients' confidence and eventual rehabilitation. Here, an innovative magnetoinductive pressure sensor is proposed for monitoring hand rehabilitation in stroke hemiplegic patients. It couples the giant magneto and stress-impedance effects of a square spiral amorphous wire with the giant magnetoelastic effect of a polymer magnet (NdFeB@PDMS).

Comparative efficacy and safety of mitral valve repair versus mitral valve replacement in Rheumatic heart disease: A high-value care systematic review and meta-analysis.

Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) remains a leading cause of cardiovascular death (CVD) globally. Mitral Valve repair (MVP) and mitral valve replacement (MVR) are the two most commonly and successfully used techniques to treat the disease. MVP is associated with reduced post-operative complications compared to MVR; however, it carries the risk of valvular fibrosis and scarring.
