Introduction: Assessing gender disparity in surgical trainees' operative opportunities and experience quantifies implicit gender bias and reflects a summation of many smaller biased interactions within the operating room environment. Highlighting gender disparity in surgery informs a platform for advocacy.
Methods: A systematic literature search was performed using Medline, Web of Science, OpenMD and Science Direct consistent with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Metanalysis guidelines.
This study aimed to investigate the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) at specific acupoints (DU20 and ST36) and different frequencies (2 and 100 Hz) on brain regions associated with trigeminal neuralgia, anxiety, and depression. Chronic trigeminal neuralgia was induced by the chronic constriction of the infraorbital nerve (CION). Anxiety and depression were assessed through behavioral tests.

Nanoscale biomaterials have shown some promising results in enhancing bone regeneration, however, the detailed interaction mechanism between nanomaterial and cells/tissue formation is not clear. Herein, a molecular-based inorganic-organic nanomaterial poly(citrate-siloxane) (PCS) is reported which can rapidly enhance osteogenic differentiation and bone formation through a special interaction with the cellular surface communication network factor 3 (CCN3), further activating the Wnt10b/β-catenin signaling pathway.
