Case: An 18-year-old woman presented with shoulder pain that had persisted for a year. The magnetic resonance imaging showed a solitary lesion in the subacromial bursa (SAB). Arthroscopy revealed an ovoid mass connected to the bursal wall with thin synovial tissue that was excised en bloc arthroscopically.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: This study aimed to elucidate the relationship between daily eating habits and stroke risk factors in O City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan, using stroke registry data collected over a 26-year follow-up period based on standardized national criteria.
Materials And Methods: Overall, 1,793 middle-aged Japanese participants (446 men and 1,347 women) who completed a 33-item Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and had no history of stroke were matched to those from O City in a stroke registry from 1996 to 2022. Stroke diagnosis for each person was used to determine whether this was their first documented stroke, and we classified strokes as either a cerebral infarction (CI) or a hemorrhagic stroke (HS), the latter which included an intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) or a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).
Introduction: The Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes guidelines recognize the importance of causes of chronic kidney disease (CKD), glomerular filtration rate, and albuminuria as predictors of kidney outcome and prognosis. However, compared with biopsy-proven causes, there has been limited research regarding the relationship between clinically diagnosed causes of CKD and patient prognosis.
Methods: We examined 3,119 patients with non-dialysis-dependent CKD who participated in the Fukuoka Kidney disease Registry Study, a multicenter prospective cohort study.
A new approach for hydrogen isotope separation using an unsaturated organometallic complex was proposed. Adsorption measurements of [Mn(dppe)(CO)(N)](BArF) (Mn-dppe) (dppe = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, BArF = B[CH(3,5-CF)]) using H and D revealed a significant difference in the adsorption enthalpy of H/D at much higher room temperatures than in previous studies, with D molecules being more strongly adsorbed on unsaturated metal sites. Mixed gas adsorption isotherms were calculated at each temperature using IAST, and it was predicted that D uptake was much larger than H uptake.

This study aims to compare the safety and efficacy of early transpyloric (TP) tube feeding with that of nasogastric (NG) tube feeding in relation to BPD.
Methods: The study population consisted of 39 extremely low birth weight infants (ELBWIs) with mechanical ventilation and an enteral feeding volume of 50 mL/kg/day, which were randomly assigned to different groups based on the method of tube feeding.
