The link between creativity and serious mental illness (SMI) is widely discussed. Jackson Pollock is one example of a giant in the field of art who was both highly creative and experiencing an SMI. Pollock created a new genre of art known as abstract expressionism ("action painting") defined as showing the frenetic actions of painting.

A 9-week-old male umbrella cockatoo () presented with mandibular prognathism. The rostral rhinothecal tomial length appeared subjectively shorter than the rostral gnathothecal length, which was subjectively rostrally elongated. After an initial orthosis failed, a second orthosis was designed that employed the use of an orthopedic wire anchor in the rostral end of the rhinotheca, leaving the premaxillary bone undisturbed.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates CP symmetry violation in the decay of D^{+} particles into K^{-}K^{+}π^{+} using data from proton-proton collisions at a high energy of 13 TeV.
  • A unique model-independent method was employed to analyze the phase-space distributions of D^{+} and D^{-} particles, correcting for any instrumental biases using D_{s}^{+} decays.
  • The findings indicate no significant evidence of CP violation, with a p value of 8.1%, and measure specific CP asymmetry observables, marking this study as the most sensitive search of its kind in multibody decays.

A distinctive feature of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes is the waning of insulin-secreting beta cells in the pancreas. New methods for direct and specific targeting of the beta cells could provide platforms for delivery of pharmaceutical reagents. Imaging techniques such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) rely on the efficient and specific delivery of imaging reagents, and could greatly improve our understanding of diabetes etiology as well as providing biomarkers for viable beta-cell mass in tissue, in both pancreas and in islet grafts.

Electrochemical alcohol oxidation (EAO) represents an effective method for the production of high-value carbonyl products. However, its industrial viability is hindered by suboptimal efficiency stemming from low reaction rates. Here, we present a synergistic electrocatalysis approach that integrates an active electrode and aminoxyl radical to enhance the performance of EAO.
