Purpose: Very little is known about primary care involvement in the care of cancer survivors beyond the initial 5 years post-treatment when transitioning to primary care is guideline-recommended for many survivors.
Methods: The ICanCare study is a longitudinal survey of women diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014-2015 identified in the Georgia and Los Angeles SEER registries. Women were surveyed during initial treatment and again approximately 6 years later in survivorship (2021-2022; n = 1,412, 60% response rate).
Purpose: Functional testing is important to inform return-to-work (RTW), but new paradigms are needed to increase access and availability of testing. Our purpose was to deploy a user centred design approach to collect, describe, and interpret end-user feedback (clinicians and patients) to inform functional requirements for a remotely administered hybrid functional test (RAHFT) protocol.
Methods: Twenty participants (10 clinicians and 10 patients) were interviewed about existing in-person functional testing and about perceptions of prospective remotely administered functional testing protocols.
Introduction: Hip fractures are common and cause a huge socioeconomic burden to patients, their carers, and healthcare services worldwide. Our aim was to examine how much hip fracture numbers would be expected to rise over coming decades, simply as a consequence of the ageing of the population.
Methods: We used data from the National Hip Fracture Database on the volume of hip fractures occurring in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in the year 2019 (n = 67,210).
Recent advances in bioacoustics combined with acoustic individual identification (AIID) could open frontiers for ecological and evolutionary research because traditional methods of identifying individuals are invasive, expensive, labor-intensive, and potentially biased. Despite overwhelming evidence that most taxa have individual acoustic signatures, the application of AIID remains challenging and uncommon. Furthermore, the methods most commonly used for AIID are not compatible with many potential AIID applications.
