Brush electrodeposition of Ni/PTFE composite coatings was explored using a nickel high speed solution and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) particles 6-9 μm in diameter. A novel bilayer-like, partially intercalated structure was produced, consisting of a rough nickel sublayer covered by an outer, compact, smooth PTFE layer. The study of the coating growth revealed that the PTFE particles bind together on the nickel coating valleys and grow until all the surface is covered by a polymer layer without the need of a baking stage.

Mesomycoplasma (Mycoplasma) ovipneumoniae is one of the most important etiological agents of SRD and should be better understood, especially in countries where it was recently detected, such as Brazil. Also, the intensive use of quinolones in mycoplasmal infections increases the selective pressure for resistance to this drug class, and no data about antimicrobial resistance in Brazil is available.

Access to interactive 3D models of both the normal and abnormal vasculatures may improve student comprehension. In this study, third-year veterinary medical students in a core small animal digestive diseases course completed a pre-lecture assignment consisting of a text-only narrative ( = 100) or an interactive electronic book (e-book; = 102) focused on extrahepatic portosystemic shunts, followed by two generative learning activities in which they described portal anatomy and extrahepatic portosystemic shunts.

Here, we describe the first isolation and draft genome sequence of M. ovipneumoniae strain USP-BR2017 retrieved from tracheobronchial lavage of a sheep showing clinical signs of respiratory disease in the Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil.

We hypothesized that the use of an interactive electronic book (e-book) would enhance student comprehension of the material. Two sequential Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine student cohorts participated in a prospective controlled study.
