Studying the Process of Phosphogypsum Recycling into a Calcium Sulphide-Based Luminophor.

Currently, one of the most important problems of environmental protection is the deep and complex processing of mineral raw materials. This problem is especially relevant when processing substandard ores and production waste, one of which is phosphogypsum. This study examines the process of CaSO/CaS composite material formation during the reduction of phosphogypsum with citric acid.

Study of the Possibility of Using Sol-Gel Technology to Obtain Magnetic Nanoparticles Based on Transition Metal Ferrites.

The article presents results for the magnetic nanoparticles sol-gel method synthesis of cobalt (II) ferrite and organic-inorganic composite materials based on it. The obtained materials were characterized using X-ray phase analysis, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, Scherrer, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) methods. A composite materials formation mechanism is proposed, which includes a gelation stage where transition element cation chelate complexes react with citric acid and subsequently decompose under heating.

Exploitation of the ribosomal protein L10 R98S mutation to enhance recombinant protein production in mammalian cells.

Mammalian cells are commonly used to produce recombinant protein therapeutics, but suffer from a high cost per mg of protein produced. There is therefore great interest in improving protein yields to reduce production cost. We present an entirely novel approach to reach this goal through direct engineering of the cellular translation machinery by introducing the R98S point mutation in the catalytically essential ribosomal protein L10 (RPL10-R98S).

How Structural Compensation Facilitates Health Care for the Homeless. A Comparative View on Four European Union Member States.

There is robust evidence that homelessness and the associated life conditions of a homeless person may cause and exacerbate a wide range of health problems, while healthcare for the homeless is simultaneously limited in accessibility, availability, and appropriateness. This article investigates legal frameworks of health care provision, existing knowledge on numbers of homeless to be considered, and current means of health care provision for four EU countries with different economic and public health background: Austria, Greece, Poland, and Romania. National experts investigated the respective regulations and practices in place with desk research.
