Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common cancers occurring globally. Surgery for CRC often extends hospital stays due to complications, as patients must meet nutritional needs and regain mobility before discharge. Longer hospital stays, required for extended monitoring and care, can increase the risk of further complications, creating a cycle where extended stays lead to more issues.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the clinical significance of the ERAS program in comparison with conventional postoperative care. This longitudinal cohort observational study enrolled 120 consecutive patients diagnosed with intestinal obstruction caused by colorectal cancers, with 40 patients in the ERAS group and 80 patients receiving conventional postoperative care forming the non-ERAS group.

Morphological characterization of inorganic matrices and hybrid organic-inorganic complexes were performed by microscopy techniques (SEM, AFM and Dark Field Hyperspectral Microscopy). Light absorption properties of ZnSe, ZnSe-TiO and TiO powders were assessed by UV-visible spectroscopy and their ability to generate reactive oxygen species (•OH and O) under visible light irradiation was investigated.

The purpose of this study was to communicate the technical tips and tricks based on our experience in performing HyFoSy, with the aim to improve the feasibility, to reduce the pain, and to evaluate pregnancy-obtaining rate after procedure.
Methods: Our observational study includes 672 patients from infertile couples who underwent HyFoSy for tubal patency evaluation.
Salt-tolerant enzymes produced by halophilic and halotolerant microorganisms have been proposed to be used in various applications that involve high saline conditions. Considering their biotechnological significance and the current need for more efficient producers of such catalysts, the present study aimed to evaluate the extracellular proteolytic, esterolytic, cellulolytic and xylanolytic activities of some halotolerant strains, and to characterize their functional parameters. A total of 21 bacterial and fungal strains belonging to the genera , , , , , , , , and were assayed by quantitative methods.
