Uranium oxide catalysts: environmental applications for treatment of chlorinated organic waste from nuclear industry.

Huge amounts of nuclear waste, including depleted uranium, significantly contribute to the adverse environmental situation throughout the world. An approach to the effective use of uranium oxides in catalysts for the deep oxidation of chlorine-containing hydrocarbons is suggested. Investigation of the catalytic activity of the synthesized supported uranium oxide catalysts doped with Cr, Mn and Co transition metals in the chlorobenzene oxidation showed that these catalysts are comparable with conventional commercial ones.

The pediatric dosage form of Egroferon--a drug indicated for the treatment of influenza and acute respiratory infections (ARIs)--is developed taking in account the broad range of pathogens (most of which are viruses), and age-dependent features of immune system reactions (absence of specific immunity and immunological memory, relative "immaturity" of immune reactions, reduced interferon production by immunocompetent cells, etc.). Ergoferon interferes with the non-specific mechanisms of antiviral defence that ensure eliciting of an immune response, regardless of the virus type (the interferon system and CD4+cells), and influences virus-induced histamine release and histamine-mediated inflammatory reactions.

[Rengalin, a novel drug for treatment of cough in children. Intermediate data on multicentre, comparative randomized clinical trial].

Unlabelled: Rengalin liquid formulation on the basis of antibodies to bradikinin histamine and morphine was specially designed for the treatment of cough in children. The three-component combination in therapeutically active against both dry and wet cough due to effect on diverse pathogenetic aspects of the cough reflex. The aim of the multicenter, comparative, randomized clinical trial was to estimate the efficacy and safety of rengalin in the treatment of cough in patients with acute respiratory infection (ARI) of the upper respiratory tract.

[Nutritional factors of inflammation induction or lipid mechanism of intestinal endotoxin transport].

Food behavior disorderes (high fat diet) and systematic strong drinks use could be the most important causes of excess intake of intestinal endotoxin (ET) in circulation (endotoxin aggression development) and induction of inflammation. In this work we investigated antiendotoxin immunity activity, ET level and some biochemical parameters in two group of patients, which were treated with orlistat or medical starvation. We suggest that lipid component of food takes a part in mechanism of ET delivery in bloodstream and its recycling in hydrophobic form.

[The correction of the trace element composition of the blood plasma in patients with ischemic heart disease by using Eunicap M].

Changes were studied in the blood plasma content of trace elements (iron, zinc, manganese, copper and zinc) before and after a 20-day course of treatment in patients with IHD, stable angina, who were given, apart from antianginal therapy, eunicap M having in its composition trace elements (iron, manganese, cuprum, and other trace elements). It has been ascertained that IHD is accompanied by changes in the blood plasma content of trace elements. Combination of eunicap M with antianginal therapy promotes the tendency toward normalization of iron and cuprum metabolism; there was no significant change in the content of zinc and manganese, which fact may be related to a deficient content of manganese in the given drug preparation or a greater demand for them in patients with atherosclerosis.
